IMPORTANT

Do take note of the following:

1. I've printed the LSM notes.

2. Please get your own unannotated (completely unmarked, no underlining & highlighting) copy of the Child Care Centres Act (http://statutes.agc.gov.sg) for TOMORROW'S LCS lesson.

3. There's an additional practice on statutory reading available on BB (http://ole-bb.tp.edu.sg) if you need it - I won't be printing because it's optional.

4. For LCS Test (next week, 3 June), we have to get our own unannotated copy of the Maintenance of Parents Act and prepare for the test. (for more information, visit BB)

5. There'll be a class test on LSM (please refer to BB also)

6. Please attempt the PrinMgt online quiz (VBUS) if you have yet to - due date: 31st May.

*Since next week is the Test week, it'd be better for you to visit VBUS, BB frequently for important announcements/updates.

Questions? Feel free to ask.
Thank you.

Class Fund

Hey guys, Verisa here.
Week 3 is coming to end very soon.

And if you remembered, I'm supposed to start my job of photocopying notes for the class next week (Week 4).
Currently, our class fund's only worth $7.50 and I can assure you that it won't be enough.
You can do your own estimated calculations.

So, I'll need all of you to donate $2 to the class fund.
Not to worry, I won't be using all the money.

Hah. Lol.

Like I've promised, I'll start my job next week.
But I'll only do it for a few weeks first in case you guys are not satisfied or whatever.
Say, 3 weeks?
Yeah.

About Today's Meeting

The discussion will be brought to tomorrow's meeting

Regrouping for CSA Project

kk, I'll make this brief, there's this new guy joining us for group project.
I had a talk with the Ms Lenny and she said we had to regroup into 5 groups, 4 groups of 4 and 1 group of 5.

Basically, to do this quickly, each group has to send somebody out to form a new group with the new guy (unless 2 heroic groups would like to volunteer themselves to be split in half). Unfortunately that isn't gonna work out, as i had received messages from some of you stating that you do not wish to split your group.

We'll have a class chat today at 11pm to discuss this matter and i will call Ms Lenny regarding this too.

Alot of our classmates had their MSN account hacked. Remember to change your password.
There is a malicious website being circulated in the world wide web.
This website looks like an MSN website, but it has a keylogger and will steal your password.
The bad guys behind the website will then log into your MSN messenger and sent to everyone this:

The unsuspecting friends will then log in to their website thinking that it is an MSN website. Then they too will have their account hack and the cycle continues.

Get Yourselves into Groups

Kk as what Verisa had said
We got to form ourselves into groups of 5, with at least a guy or 2 in each group for 2 projects:
1) BBT1001 Computer Systems & Applications
2) BBS1001 - Principles of Management
For convenience sake, there will only be one group for both subjects.

In order to make the forming of groups less chaotic, we'll have two mass convo on MSN for the next 2 days at 11pm.

Saturday 11pm's agenda:
1. If half the class is present, our discussion will start
2. groups will form
3. leaders for each group will be selected
4. we may then allocate the absentees into various groups

Sunday 11pm's agenda:
1. If half the class is present, our discussion will start
2. this is for the sake of those who weren't present on the first class convo
3. Further discussion in the groupings
4. Finalising of the groups

I will be informing all of you via handphone, msn and through this blog.

These people need not come but you are still welcome to
Group 1:
(leader undecided)
Dorra
Sean
Marie
Christina
Jeremy

Group 2:
Verisa (leader)
Fiona
Roy
May
Jennifer

Group 3:
Jasmine
Gayathri
Guiyong
Weifeng

Reminder

This is regarding Principles of Management Group Assignment.

Formation of Project Groups
- Each tutorial class is required to form 4-5 project groups, with each group comprising a maximum of 6 members.
- Each group should preferably have a mix of male and female students.
- Submit the names of your group members to your tutor in the week beginning 4th May 2009.

As you all know, now that we're in Poly, most of the things are and will be based on our initiatives.
So, I think the above's one thing that we all need to take note of (you wouldn't want to miss the deadline).
No offence, this is just a gentle reminder.

You can download the file at VBus.
Thanks.

Mass Photocopying of Notes

Hi, hi, hi,
I'm back, again.
As you can see, I'm not here to talk about the class tee...hoodies or whatever.
(:

I've accepted the task of mass photocopying the notes for the class.
In fact, I volunteered myself by replying to Sean's tag on the board days back.
ANYWAY, 2/3 of the girls have agreed to my proposal.
I'm waiting for everyone to agree before moving on.

But in any case, I'll only start my job from Week FOUR (4), 11th May onwards.
Don't worry about it, I'll be stalking the websites (VBus and BB) 24/7, so once the files are uploaded, I'll get on it.
Does that sound convincing? =P

I know it's a huge responsibility but I'm up for it since it'll be of help to most of us.
You guys are awesome so you guys deserve something awesome in return. (:

Okay, I better get on with my work.
Take care.

EDIT: I'll try it out for a few week first and see how it goes.

Verisa, again.
HELLO MY BELOVED 1L05.
i know you missed me. i'm sorry i wasnt in the mass convo yesterday. cos i was too lazy to use the computer. haha. but verisa updated me on what was going on, and although a class hoodie/pullover is definitely great, there are a few issues we need to consider.

ONE: WHERE DO WE GO TO MAKE A CLASS HOODIE? i've only heard of jackets and tee-shirts, never heard of hoodies. maybe it exists, but i'm sorry i'm a mountain tortoise..

TWO: MONEY FACTOR. how much does it cost to make a hoodie? not everyone of us has a dad who prints banknotes, so we do have a budget when it comes to this kind of thing..

THREE: TIME FACTOR. if we were to do the hoodie, we most probably would not be able to get it done by the 15. and anyway. who in their right mind would wear a hoodie to a car wash. hahaha. so i think we're gonna have to take gui yong's suggestion and wear the yellow biz shirt on that day... (for once, gui yong's suggestion actually makes sense, and not singing and cooking) but even if we did get a class shirt, i doubt it would be able to be done by the 15 anyway.. hahaha. so this factor isnt really related. :P

okay. anyways, moving on. yesterday's class lunch was AWESOME! and since yesterday was the last thursday of the month, we shall make this a tradition/routine/schedule.. ON EVERY LAST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH, I SHALL BOOK ALL THE OTHER 19 OF YOU AND WE SHALL ALL HAVE OUR MONTHLY CLASS LUNCH. noww.. lets see.. where shall we go next month? hahaha!

cheers!
fiona(:

Blog Updates

The old shoutbox has been replaced due to some administraive problems with it. Now with the new one, you can posts again and again without having to wait for the lag-time to expire.

Recycling is a virtue, so instead of deleting the old shoubox, it had been moved below the music player to be used as a song suggestion box. Feel free to post any songs you would like to be added to the music player.
Template: song title, artiste(s) of that song
I'll then add it to the music player.

For those new to the music player, there's a few buttons you will need to know to fully utilize the music player.

For the sake of those who don't know what a pullover is, taken from wikipedia.org, a pullover is "a relatively heavy garment intended to cover the torso and arms of the human body and usually worn over a shirt, blouse, T-shirt or other top."

Next, a (pullover) hoodie is short for "hooded sweatshirt".
There are hoodies with zippers, called "zip hoodies or zip-ups" and without zippers.

Here's a pictorial sample of hoodies without zippers.
